Terms of Service
1. About Sokoni
Sokoni is an online marketplace operated in South Africa. We connect independent vendors with buyers. Sokoni is the platform operator; each product is sold by the vendor listed on the product page unless marked as sold by Sokoni.
2. Your account
You must create an account and sign in before checkout. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity on your account. Provide accurate contact and delivery information.
3. Orders and payment
When you place an order, you offer to buy items at the displayed price (inclusive of VAT where applicable). Payment is processed by our payment partners (PayFast or Ozow). An order is confirmed only after successful payment. Prices and availability may change until payment is completed.
4. Delivery
Delivery times depend on the vendor and courier. Estimated delivery windows are shown at checkout where available. Risk passes to you on delivery to your nominated address.
5. Returns and refunds (Consumer Protection Act)
Under the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA), you may return most goods within 7 days of delivery if you did not open or use them, subject to exclusions for sealed goods, perishable items, and custom-made products. Defective or misdescribed goods may be returned in line with the CPA and our Returns Policy. Refunds are processed to the original payment method where possible.
6. Marketplace role
Sokoni facilitates transactions between buyers and vendors. Vendors are responsible for product descriptions, stock, packaging, and first-line customer support for their items. Sokoni may assist with disputes and may suspend vendors who breach these terms.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Sokoni's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant order. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights under the CPA.
